so much to say!

I feel like everyday I have something exciting to talk about, then what happens I am not near the computer... so I completely forget about what my very important blog was going to be about!

Sooo, I will just talk about how grossed out I was on my walk down to my cafe here in the building. Not that it needs to be said.. but, if your clothes are too tight, do not wear them! So far today!!! This just TODAY! I have been an older woman, with long gray hair wearing white capris and a BLACK thong! Seriously! I couldn't help but notice because she was like 7 feet tall and my face was well.. you get the idea, I am a shorty. Then, just now I saw a man dressed very nice, very, very nice, however, his pants were so tight, he had a muffin top! So unnecessary!

I will admit that there have been times when I have needed to wiggle myself into an outfit or two especially since I have had my child. But these have been some pretty extreme cases, never would I wear these inappropriate outfits into my work place!

I might have a nightmare tonight about white capri's! So, there I got it off of my chest, I feel a etsy bit better.

what is on your mind?

So, I have been thinking for a few days now about the next "holiday" that is around the corner. Mother's day. What are you getting your mom or Mil for this extra special day?

Leave me a comment you will more than likely help someone out who is going to be passing through. And besides, I need some tips! My issue is my mil has everything! At least from the outsider looking in. And she is an extra special mil, so something that has no thought put into just simply won't do.

stunted growth, maybe too much coffee?

So it appears that Emma has stopped growing for the time being.... In fact it appears that her cloths are actually starting to get bigger! She is starting to slim down a bit which is nice, because that means she can wear her current cloths for a bit longer, YAY!

So in the mean time she is starting to need some more summery clothes. Rather than go out and spend money on clothes that I am afraid she will not fit into in two months, I pulled out some of her winter sweat pants and tops that are made out of lighter weight fabrics and started cutting! She had a couple of onzies that she has never worn so I cut the bottoms of and rounded the waistline on them and bonus, NEW t-shirts! Took her sweat pants and made some of them into capris and some of them into shorts. Capri's for those chili (ish) days that we occasionally experience.

I have been rather inspired to create new things out of old things sense my visit with Sarah and my aunt last week. Between the two of them they shared loads of sewing knowledge! It was great to see them! I have made two pillows, and two yoga mat bags. One of the yoga mat bags I tried to make reversible... it is best to say that didn't turn out so well.... oh, well try, and try again! At least I have discovered that I LOVE to sew! One of my future projects is making a new doggie bed for Tilly & Yahoo.

Here is my yoga mat bag that I made for myself.

April - Financial Literacy Month!

Ok, so to clarify my post yesterday... I received an email from a friend concerned about putting my bank information online. When I say I put my bank information online let me clarify, I mean only my transactions. NEVER under any circumstances place your personal information online, the rule to remember when it comes to the World Wide Web is, once it is up, it is FOREVER up! There is zero deletion. There are websites that have daily spidering, what this means is that they go out to the web and take a "picture" of every website they can find and document it in their library. Here is an example of this - http://www.archive.org/web/web.php go ahead and take a look!

Have you ever been curious about the history of a website? Granted, it does not catch all websites mainly high traffic sites, but it is good thing to remember!

So, the come back around to my point - no personal info ever!

Have a great Tuesday!

Financial Literacy

Last week work sent me to a conference primarily on Student Aide. However, a large part of the conference was geared at Financial literacy, how timely! I can not tell you how many calls I receive daily about teachers who need assistance paying their bills. Let me just tell you, in case no one ever has before, if you owe money to someone, and you are having a difficult time paying that bill, pick up the phone and contact said lender. Sometimes it is that EASY! And if you are not familiar with deferment or forbearance options on your student loan - get proactive and learn about your options. Also! Ask about a different payment option. Most lenders are happy to receive something instead of nothing. In case you have not learned about the Public Service Loan Forgiveness option - go read! http://www.finaid.org/loans/publicservice.phtml Public service is such a broad definition that almost anything falls under this federal definition.

I just recently stumbled onto this website www.wesabe.com What does Wesabe do exactly? Let me just tell you, I merged my bank account information with this website and WALA! It tells me exactly where all my money is going! It took me about five minutes to go in and add some word "tagging". But it was very nice to know where the bulk of our money goes everymonth! FOOD! hah! We need to eat, but I think we might be spending a bit excessively in this category...

Also, I am proud to say that my Alma mater, Sam Houston State University offers financial guidance to current students and they are very shortly extending it to alumni as well! So, I am going to guess that if my Alma mater offers this type of information you should look to see if yours does too!

Here is a link to a financial literacy website - really, who couldn't use a little tune up right?

Watching Emma laugh

I swear I could just sit around all day and watch Emma laugh and play with the random things around the house. You might think it a piece of mail... but to Emma, oh! it isn't just a piece of mail, but something that you can make lots of noise with and crinkle and shred into little bitty pieces.

Or perhaps dads boots! Oh, the places you will go!
